THE DEBT short story fiction |

“Do you know me?” The words were so quiet in his dream, muffled, as if
from very far away. He tossed in his bed, the sheets pulling from
tightly tucked corners. Sweat misted his forehead as it had on so many
nights in his life. The face loomed just out of reach of his vision,
like a phantom. Like the after image of a flash bulb imprinted on the
mind. In the dream he was digging. He was always digging. The ground
was so hard that the shovel vibrated up his arms with each attack on
the frozen dirt. His shoulders ached with the effort, his blistered
palms slick with pain. As the hole deepened, he felt the straps of the
bags drag across his back and neck, bowing him beneath their weight.
“Do you…” the voice started to whisper out of the distance, tickling his ears like the incessant buzz of a mosquito.

|
Flames sprouted from the eves of the house curling the black shingles
into blobby masses of dripping tar that rained down on the porch and
gutters. Thick choking smoke bubbled under, around and through every
crack and seam, billowing over the front door in an inky cloud that
made it look like the gate to hell. The wreath on the door suddenly
burst into a circle of fire that bit at the wood with orange fingers.
The living room window exploded outward in a spray of crystal shards,
the curtains blazing up like lit fuses.

So what is with the name WebZombies.com??? Many have asked why Dominic, Jordan and myself picked the name WebZombies.
Well.... first of all... it sounds so cool!
Just say it to yourself as you read this Blog.... "WebZombies" Sorta rolls off the tongue eh?
Actually, there was a bit of thought put into the name WebZombies.com.
WebZombies has several meanings, some of these meanings may be more
obvious than others. We will explain some of the meanings of the name
WebZombies below in this blog and we will let your imagination come up
with some other meanings on your own.
First we must examine what a zombie is......

Have you ever listened to Christian radio? Or have you viewed any Christian TV programs (especially children's programs). Or, visited the vast majority of Christian websites.
Why are they so lame?
Why is the humor on these Christian media outlets so dorky? Can't
Christians be just a s funny, just as witty, just as silly, just as
goofy, sarcastic, bombastic and even more so? Does clever humor only
reside in the world? God is the mastermind of all creation yet His Body
has a lame sense of humor.
One of the WebZombie goals is to buck this trend! So.... be
funny, witty and clever. We want to read your original writings, view
your funny videos, listen to your original audio files and see your
hilarious images.
This site will turn into something one day, yet currently were not really sure what that "something" will be.
