Whatever happened to the coolness of being respectful toward those who deserve our respect?   War veterans, police officers, pastors and Mr. Smith down the street who used to tell you stories of what it was like for him being a kid during the depression.  Don’t get me wrong.   We're  still encouraged every now and then that all is not lost.  Like when a father shows his small son how to hold the correct hand over his heart and face the flag at a ball game.  Or when men still open doors for women and women actually feel honored.

Ok, I think I’m starting to sound like those parents who claimed they could walk uphill to town, see 12 movies, buy popcorn and soda spending only a nickel and then were more than happy to make the uphill walk home.  Blah!
