So what is with the name WebZombies.com??? Many have asked why Dominic, Jordan and myself picked the name WebZombies. Well.... first of all... it sounds so cool! Just say it to yourself as you read this Blog.... "WebZombies" Sorta rolls off the tongue eh? Actually, there was a bit of thought put into the name WebZombies.com. WebZombies has several meanings, some of these meanings may be more obvious than others. We will explain some of the meanings of the name WebZombies below in this blog and we will let your imagination come up with some other meanings on your own. First we must examine what a zombie is...... zombien 1: a dead body that has been brought back to life by a supernatural force [syn: zombi, the living dead] 2: (voodooism) a spirit or supernatural force that reanimates a dead body [syn: zombi, zombi spirit, zombie spirit] 3: a god of voodoo cults of African origin worshipped especially in West Indies [syn: zombi, snake god] 4: someone who acts or responds in a mechanical or apathetic way; "only an automaton wouldn't have noticed" [syn: automaton, zombi] 5: several kinds of rum with fruit juice and usually apricot liqueur [syn: zombi]OK... much of that sounds pretty bad from a Christian perspective. So lets just stick with the very first definition.... "a dead body that has been brought back to life by a supernatural force" now isn't that exactly what a Christian is? A Christian is a person who is dead in their sin but then reckons themselves with Christ and Christ's death and then is crucified with Christ and in turn given eternal life though supernatural means! In this sense Christians are Zombies! Meaning number two.... We often think of Zombies as these mindless monsters running around town moaning, groaning and trying to eat everyones brains. Again, this describes our goals as WebZombies (minus the moaning and groaning part of course). It is our goal to eat peoples brains (figuratively of course). We do intend to prove that Christians do not have to be dorky. Christians can be clever, creative, humorous without oozing candy coated "niceness" . Therefore... A WebZombie is a Christian who spends a fair amount of time interacting with others online yet redefines how Christians are viewed by other Christians and possibly the world. Being a Christians doesn't mean you have to be a Ned Flanders. A Christian can also be a WebZombie..... existing somewhere within the dark side of the light. |
